Show Enforcement Off icers of Four States Attend Crime Conferences in Cedar Cedar City was host Friday of, last week to a day-long crime conference conducted by the' Utah Peace Officers Association. Chairman of the event was Anton An-ton 11. Lambert, chief of police. Over 100 law enforcement officers of-ficers representing four states were in attendance at the meetings meet-ings in the basement of the Elks Lodge. Included were representatives represen-tatives ot all phases of law en. forcement in the state of Utah including the FBI. State Highway High-way Patrol, County Sheriffs offices of-fices and various city police departments, de-partments, Lambert stated. In addition the delegation from the sponsoring Utah group, was joined by law enforcement officials from Nevada, Arizona and Idaho. The crime conferences are held quarterly each year by the association. asso-ciation. Next conference will be iielu ai Eichfieia with Sevier County Sheriff Rex Huntsman to serve as chairman. Moderator for the Cedar City conference was Lt. Clare Evans of the Salt Lake County sheriffs office and Lt. Farris Andrus, also al-so of Salt Lake City, served as co-chairman. Principal purpose of the conferences, con-ferences, according to Chief Lambert, Lam-bert, is the exchange of information infor-mation from department to de-partmert de-partmert and from agency to agency. All known criminal ele- ments of the state arc brought up to date and information is passed on in suspected cases for better coordination effort in the state. Mug shots and slides of suspected sus-pected criminals in the state were shown at the meeting and also introduced were colored slides of criminals for better and more positive identification purposes. pur-poses. - "' ! Specific problems of various departments were also discussed in panel units and information brought to the floor for consideration consider-ation and comment.
