Show PARAGONAH NEWS NOTES Mr. Hllma Lamoraaux Mr. and Mrs. Donald Burton and their three children of Logan arrived here Thursday night for a ten-day stay with the Errol Lamoreaux family and with Donald's Don-ald's people in Parowan. Mrs. Idella Robinson was out of town from Thursday to Sunday. Sun-day. She made the trip to Tooele To-oele with Mrs. Donna Jolley and children of Cedar City to spend a few days with the Gordon Manzione family. Relatives here have recei.e! word of a new addition to tne Melvyn Jones family of Pocatello, Ida. A baby boy was born Friday, Fri-day, March 15. Grandmother, Mrs. Gwen Jones, was in Idaho with the family at the time. Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Robinson received word of the arrival of a new grandchild on March 15th. A boy was born to Norman and Nona Harris of Salt Lake City on that day. m The home of Mrs. Llla Stones was the scene of a festive party Friday evening when a personal shower was given for Miss Gcr-aldine Gcr-aldine Stubbs of Parowan, who is a prospective bride. Hostesses for the occasion were the Misses Linda Rae Da Hon, and Billye Dean and Mrs. Helen Jean Stubbs. Games and refreshments were enjoyed and a wedding gown of paper was fashioned for the bride to be. A large number of relatives and classmates from out of town attended. Mrs. Bertha S. Topham left for Salt Lake City and Kearns Thursday. Thurs-day. She planned to visit with her daughter Marie and family at Kearns for a few days and then to meet her son Lanell on Monday. Elder Topham was scheduled to arrive by plane after af-ter completing a two year mission mis-sion to England. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Evans have completed their move to Parowan and are now making their home at the residence formerly for-merly owned by Mrs. Ila Gurr. Mr. and Mrs. Evans have sold heir property to the John Michael! Mich-ael! family. Mr. and Mrs. John Michaeli, Sr. -.rrived here from California during dur-ing the week to make their home in Paragonah. They are purchasing pur-chasing the property recently vacated va-cated by the Elmo Robinson family fa-mily and have had extensive remodeling re-modeling done to the home. Mr. and Mrs. Don Barton left for a vacation trip to California last week. Alan Dailey of Salt Lake City was here briefly last week when he came to bring his aunt, Mrs. Lois Orton home from the hos pital. Mrs. Orton is Improving and will convalesce for a time with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Robinson held a family gathering at their home Saturday in honor of the birthday anniversaries of their daughter Cleo and son Ronald which came on the 16th and 17th. Family dinner was enjoyed by the Ralph Edwards family of Cedar City, the Ronald Robinsons and Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Robinson. Stephen and Paul Edwards of Cedar City were here with their Robinson grandparents for three days last week. Other members of the family were to Salt Lake and Orern. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Benson and girls of Beaver visited here briefly brief-ly Friday and Sunday on their way to and from a week end at Lake Mead and Boulder Dam. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Prothero had guests from Thursday to Saturday Sat-urday of last week. Their nephew, neph-ew, Ricky Bonzo, and his friend Curtis Berry of Cedar City were here during spring vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Robinson and daughter. Holly, were away for Friday and Saturday traveling travel-ing to Salt Lake City and Ogden. They visited overnight in Ogden Og-den with the Victor Robinson family, Bishop Robinson attended attend-ed to some church affairs in Salt Lake City and also attended the gathering for school teachers held on Saturday. Miss Helen Stones and Mrs. Emma Dalton also traveled north Friday to attend the school teachers meeting. Mrs. Dalton made the trip with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Carl Dalton of Cedar City. Mrs. Olive Edwards was taken to the hospital in Cedar City Saturday. She was quite ill with a throat infection and other flu complications. A Large group of Paragonah people attended sessions at the St. George Temple on Wednesday Wednes-day of last week. Included in the group were Mr. and Mrs. K. Doyle Robinson, Mrs. Bertha S. Topham, Mrs. Pauline Topham, Mrs. Delia Topham, Mr. and Mrs Homer Boardman, Mr. and Mrs. Myro Abbott, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ar-thur Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Robinson, Mrs. Irene Robinson and Mrs. Hanah Robinson. DUP meeting will be held on Thursday afternoon, March 21 at the home of Mrs. Sarah Stones. The meeting will begin at 2:00 p. m. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Engle-stead Engle-stead of St. George arrived here Monday on the way to Panguitch for the funeral service of a relative, rela-tive, John Richards. |
