Show American Legion Post No. 20 Names New Officers A. B. Matheson, active member of the Parowan Post No. 20 of the American Legion for many years, was named as post commander com-mander of the organization at an election meeting held Wednesday Wed-nesday night in the courtroom of the county courthouse. Mr. Matheson will succeed present post commander Max Dalley at the time new officers are installed. in-stalled. At tlie same time T. A. Top-hom Top-hom of Paragonah was named as first vice commander. Sam Pritchard as second vice commander, com-mander, Kenneth Joseph as adjutant, ad-jutant, Leonard S. Orton as service ser-vice officer, Taylor Miller as chaplain with LeRoy Adams and Bruce Matheson as sergeants-at-arms. Retiring officers besides Mr. Dalley are A. B. Matheson and A. C. Hatch as first and second vice commanders, respectively; Heber Gurr, adjutant; Lyle Halterman, chaplain; Victor Robinton, Para-gonah, Para-gonah, service officer; Hardi-son Hardi-son Adams and Lloyd Guymon, sergeants-at-arms, and Carlyle Hulet athletic officer. This latter position is an appointive one and the new officers will make an appointment to the office after af-ter they take over. Preceding the election two special spe-cial awards were presented, one to W. Clair Rowley and one to the Post No. 20 for fine work done in the past. Mr. Rowley received re-ceived a certificate for his 35 years continuous membership in the post and his service to that organization. He was a charter member of the post and has served as post commander, district dis-trict commander and served as service officer for many years. His certificate came from the State department. Commander Dalley also presented pre-sented the Post with a certificate awarded it for having exceeded its quota in the 1952 membership drive. |
