Show District Governor Honored by Cedar Kiwanis Wednesday evening at El Es-calante Es-calante hotel Cedar City Kiwan-ians Kiwan-ians and their wives met in a special meeting to honor Kiwanis Governor Ernest D. Hunsaker of Nampa, Idaho. Gov. Hunsaker was making his official visit to trie Cedar Citv club. An evening of outstanding entertainment en-tertainment was enjoyed by the members in attendance consisting consist-ing of musical numbers by Christine Chris-tine Houchen, accompanied by Rev. William Burton, and Sheldon Shel-don Prestwich, who accompanied himself on the guitar. Gov. Hunsaker addressed the group during the evening. The text of his message was the origin of Kiwanis and what Kiwanis Ki-wanis means. Pointing out that the motto of the club had chang ed from "We Trade" to "We Build", Gov. Hunsaker complimented compli-mented the Cedar City group for the fine work it had accomplished accomplish-ed in the short time it has been organized, following the motto "We Build". Following a discussion of Kiwanis Ki-wanis and what Kiwanis means, Mr. Hunsaker outlined the activities activi-ties of the district convention that will be held in Sun Valley, Idaho in September and extended an official invitation to the Cedar City Kiwanians to attend. During the course of the evening eve-ning Rex Harris was unanimously unanimous-ly accepted as a director in the club to replace Burt Horsley who has moved to Provo to accept employment and to attend school. The next meeting of the club will be in the form of an official offi-cial opening program for the recently re-cently completed playgrounds in the northwest section of town. The club members will meet next Monday evening at 6:30 at the playground to conduct and participate par-ticipate in the opening. |
