Show Wet Pavement Sends Automobile On 281 Foot Rampage Charles Wells, Cedar City assistant as-sistant police chief, reports that about $1400 damage resulted from an automobile accident just south of Cedar City during a sudden shower Saturday evening. Mr. Wells reported that Nils John Soderstrom and his wife of Los Angeles were approaching Cedar City when they hit the rain squall and lost control of the car on the wet pavement. The car skidded 100 feet and crashed into a row of gasoline pumps at the Atomic Service station, knocking down two pumps, several sev-eral signs and a battery box. It then crashed into a parked car, and skidded another 181 feet before be-fore coming to a stop. The assistant . police chief estimated es-timated the damage as-$1000 to the service station, $300 to the Soderstrom car and $75 to the parked vehicle. |
