Show Garden Club Holds Interesting Meeting; Plans Project On Thursday, July 23, members of the Cedar City Garden club met at the home of Thelma Jones for an informative afternoon. Mae Leigh gave the club members mem-bers information on fences for all localities and Jennie Perry gave some interesting facts on earwigs ear-wigs in the Cedar City area. Mrs. Leigh discussed fences dealing with all types, including wood, wire and shrub fences, and where and how they should be used. The ear-wig, a definite pest in Cedar City this year was discussed dis-cussed by Mrs. Perry and valuable valua-ble aids of control were given. The afternoon was climaxed when ice cold root beer and nut bread was served by the hostess. host-ess. The next meeting of the Cedar City Garden club will be held on Thursday, aug. 6 at 4 p. m. at the Cedar City cemetery. The club plans to plant Iris along the newly constructed fence at the cemetery. All members and interested in-terested citizens are invited to attend. Those participating are asked to bring rakes, hoes, shovels sho-vels and be ready to work. |
