Show Spring Quarter Speech Students Plan West Coast Field Trip A four-day field trtp will be one of the first activities for students of speech at Branch Agricultural college during the spring quarter. Prof. Twain Tip-petts Tip-petts and about 30 students will make an educational tour of Los Angeles and other Pacific points March 12 to 15. Students are saving money to finance the trip which will be a share the-expense affair. Co eels in the group will make box lunches to cut cost of meals. The group will travel by automobile, leaving the campus March 12. , They will stop at points of geologic geolo-gic and scenic interest along the way, staying overnight at San Diego. During a day-long stopover stop-over there they will go to the famed San Diego Zoo, rated one of the finest in the nation, and will visit the marine station at LaJolla. The group will take the next day to visit a museum and Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles An-geles and Forest Lawn Memorial park in Glendale. They will go to a Broadway play currently on road show engagement in southern south-ern California, and will visit radio ra-dio broadcasting studios and the Hollywood film studios. The purpose of the trip is to give the students broader background back-ground in contemporary life. This background is as important as a rich background of library research re-search if students are to be interesting in-teresting speakers, Professor Tip-petts Tip-petts declared.
