Show Anker Elected Vice President of Cleaners Association Raymond Anker of Cedar City was elected second vice president of the Utah State Cleaners Association As-sociation at the fifth annual convention con-vention of the association held in Ogden last week end. Local cleaning firms were represented rep-resented at the convention by Mr. Anker of the Cedar Laundry and Cleaners, and Wayne Jackson Jack-son of the Jackson Cleaners. Mrs. Anker and Mrs. Jackson also attended. at-tended. The theme of the convention was "Management" and the various var-ious important speakers directed their remarks along this line. Delegates heard lectures by W.j R. Pellerina of New Orleans, pro-1 prietor of the Pellerina Laundry, Machine company, and chairman of the board of Pellerina-Milnor Corporation; by John L. Sullivan, public relations counsel for Standard Oil of California; by Dr. W. D. Stratford of the Weber college faculty; by P. C. Mc-Cutcheon Mc-Cutcheon of Dow Chemical Co., and by Charles Brown from the National Institute of Cleaners and Dyers. Another highlight of the conference con-ference was the special clinics in both silk-finishing and spotting. These were conducted in Ogden plants by well-known authorities in those fields. The over-all purpose of the gathering was to enable each of the delegates to learn new techniques tech-niques and latest methods used throughout the industry and, consequently to improve the various var-ious service offered by his own firm. |
