Show Music Students Enter Regional Music Contests at Kanab A number of Cedar City high . school and junior high .school music students will compete in the annual Region Six solo and ; ensemhble contest to be held at I Kanab next Wednesday. Mar. 11. The students will be judged by Di. and Mrs. N. W. Christensen and Prof. J. P. Dalley, members of the Utah State Agricultural college faculty, and by W. H. Terry, former music instructor at South Cache high school. They will rate the students en the basis ba-sis of individual performance and not in competition with each other. Local students who will compete com-pete are under the direction of A B. Larson, instrumental; Roy L. Halversen, strings, and Albert D. Rich, vocal. Students who will participate include Alice Mesfer, Kathleen Mathesn and Sharon Corry, so-piano so-piano solos; Mavis Jones, alto solo; Allen Garfield, bass solo; girls vocal trio, Sandra Condie, Pat Jones and Gloria Dot son; Kristine Corry and Janet Was-den, Was-den, piano solos; Kristine Corry and Jimmy Parry, B-flat clarinet solos; Richard Webster and Mar-jean Mar-jean Isom, viola solos; Janet Wasden and Marann Rradshaw, horn solos; Jorena Jones, violin vMo; Richard Heywood Sam Jones Larry Givan, cornet solos; Ann Larson and Sarah Jensen, flut and clarinet duet; Carrol Ann Parry, cello solo; Orion Wood, Dee Stapley, Wallace Hamilton, trombone solo; Billv Maxwell, 1 bass clarinet solo; Thelma Davis, Da-vis, ba 's violin sol', and Mac-Neil Mac-Neil Mathews, baritone saxophone saxo-phone solo. |
