Show Fish and Game Post Taken by Robert B. Mitchell Robert B. Mitchell, hx-al sportsman sports-man and poultry business operator, oper-ator, was named to the Mate Kish and Game Commission by Governor J. Bracken Leo last Saturday, Sat-urday, at which time the governor govern-or sent a list of appointees to I the Male Senate for contnma-tion. contnma-tion. Tr.e Senate in action taken on Tuesday of this week approved ap-proved the list of appointees, in eluding Mitchell's name. He will now become a member of that commission for a six-year six-year term, to represent District No. 5, including mobt of southern south-ern Utah, and will replace Newel K. Krei of M. Gourde who has served on that board lor the past six years. Mr. Mitchell, who was recommended recom-mended for the appointment by-southern by-southern L'tah sportsmen's organizations, or-ganizations, and also approved by the hx-al Republican organization, organi-zation, was called into Salt Lake City last week tor a conference wiin the governor, and his appointment ap-pointment was announced last Saiuraay. Bob has been an ardent sportsman sports-man all his life and an active member of the Parowan Gun and Rod club for many years, serving as president of that organization organiza-tion during 1952. At the same time Governor Lee named W. Rulon White of Ogden to the Fish and Game Commission, Commis-sion, also for a six year term. He will represent district No. 2, and will replace E. N. Larson of that district who is retiring. Holdover members of the board are K. E. Bulloch of Provo, representing district No. 1; J. Allen Browne, Price, representing district No. 3 and G. G. Sanderson, Richfield, representing district No. 4. We understand that Mr. Sanderson has been chairman of the commission com-mission for some time. The commission is the pol icy-making icy-making body for the Fish and Game department, and are not full time appointees. The commission com-mission meets in regular session four times a year, plus an annual an-nual meeting in April of each year. Its members are also subject sub-ject to call for special meetings whenever the occasion makes such a thing necessary. |
