Show "National Kids Day" Program to be Sponsored by Kiwanis A day for the outh of Cedar City will be held in the form of "National Kids' Day" sponsored by the Cedar City Kiwanis Club on Saturday, Sept. 26. Feature of the day will be a pet parade and show, plus a free motion picture, pic-ture, according to Norman Heat- j on, general chairman for the , event. J Beginning in the morning the parade will be down Cedar City's Main Street to the public park where a pet shew will be held. At the show prices will be given for all kinds of pets. Also those children who participate in the parade, and there is no age limit lim-it set this year, free theatre tickets tick-ets will be issued for the afternoon after-noon entertainment. In connection with the Kids' Day the Kiwanians of the city will conduct a peanut sale drive with the funds derived to be added to the organization's un-derpriviliged un-derpriviliged children's fund. Assisting Mr. Heaton on the committee in charge of arrangements arrange-ments is Howard Mace, publicity director; Haymei Morris, pet parade; par-ade; Carlos Taylor, motion picture pic-ture and Murray Butler, peanut sales. The annual observance of Kids' Day is sponsored jointly by Kiwanis Ki-wanis International and the National Na-tional Kid's Day Foundation, Inc. of Hollywood, Calif. "In keeping with the purple of the day, which is to atUact more attention atten-tion to the problems of underprivileged under-privileged youth and to raise funds to meet these needs, the Kiwanis program is designed to1 provide material help for less privileged children in our community," com-munity," Mr. Heaton stated. "All funds raised through Kids' Day activities will remain in our community to be spent under the supervision of Kiwanians and others interested in youth organization," or-ganization," he added. |
