Kennedy, vie president in charge of marketing. TCP, the trademark for th" power-boosting additive used in the new Conoco Super gasoline, is a special chemical compound originally developed to prevent spark plug failure In the Air Force's giant B-36 bombers, said Mr. Kennedy. He explained that TCP provides better engine performance per-formance in two ways. First, it neutralizes spark plug deposits that cause short-circuting and misfiring. Second, it changes chemically the deposits in combustion com-bustion chambers that cause "wild-ping" and pre-lgnition with resultant power loss. Both conditions condi-tions are con.mon in both new and old cars.
