' i The first piece of equipment for a playground for the smaller children of Parowan was received the first of the week by the Parowan Par-owan Tri-H club, which has inaugurated in-augurated a project to completely complete-ly equip such a playground. This piece of equipment was a 13-foot slide and was set up on the city park near the old rock church for the use of the small children. This piece of equipment was purchased by the club at a cost of $72.00 it is announced by Club President Marie Orton, with the money being earned by the club by helping the local Lions Club with its birthday calendar project. pro-ject. The club also sold a quilt during the recent Iron County Fair, with the proceeds to go toward to-ward the purchase of additional pieces of playground equipment. Other officers of the club besides be-sides Mrs. Orton are Leona Dal-ton, Dal-ton, vice president; Gwen Jones, secretary and treasurer, and Estell Orton, reporter, with the following as members: Lovena Adams, Minute Decker, Utahna Heap, Doraine Orton, Ann Orton, Louise Robinson, Greta Wood, Janice Nixon, Norma Dalton, Lila Truman and Willie Topham. These ladies would appreciate any help any other club or organization or-ganization would give them in this very worthy project. |
