Show CSU Intra-squad Game Scheduled With Local Medics in Full Command As a means of giving his play-1 ers a chance to gain some much j needed experience and to give; local fans a chance to see the Broncos in action, Coach Dave Gates is planning an intra-squad game at the Collie of Southern Utah next week end. The game will take on a 'down town" atmospnere when two local lo-cal "Monday Morning Quarterbacks" Quarter-backs" handle the teams for the big battle. When the two squads pair off against each other for the game Dr. James S. Prestwich will be coaching the "Blues" with Dr. Reed W. Farnsworth in charge of the "Whkeh". Both are enthusiastic fans and supporters of Bronco teams, and this time will be given the chance to really determine strategy on the field by directing the opposing teams instead or just sitting in the stands and telling the coaches how it should be done. There will be plenty of rivalry in the game wiih the players assigned as-signed to each coach doing their best to "win for the old man." The game will be played on the CSU field at 8 p. m. Friday, September 18, and the public is invited to attend free of charge. With perhaps the tougest game of the season following the next week when the Weber Wildcats of Ogden invade the Bronco lair, Coach Gates is drilling his men hard to get them ready for this big opening battle. The coach will have a very small scuad anJ will be hard put to juggle his players, particularly particu-larly in a lough game with such teams as the heavily manned Weber squad. With less than 30 men expected to make up the Eronco squad the coach will not have more than two men for most of the o.sitions. He has good men f'.r most positions, and if he can avoid injuries to key players shoupUl fne all right. However, because of the danger of injuries he states that every man on the squad must learn at ' least two positions so that he can fill in at either. mong the lettermen back from last year's squad who will be counted on heavily this year will be Larry Crawford of Preston, Idaho at center, Thales Johnson John-son of Kanab ana Ken Topham of Parowan at guard. Hardy Phelps of Las Vegas, who will be shifted from the backfield to an end position. Rone Hone of Fillmore, Fill-more, and Ken Frost of Kanab at halfback, Jack Sargent of Cedar City at fullback and Don Keeney of Kentucky at quarter. Bolstering these men are some very promising freshmen from the ranks of last year's teams, and one or two fellows who are in their second year at college but have not played at CSU before. be-fore. Among the freshmen are Kendall Ken-dall Lister of Parowan, center; Wendle Holmes, tackle; Keith Cooley, tackle; Bill Brown, tackle; Ray Stephenson, end; Don Ray Melling and Lawrence Ashdown, quarterbacks; and J.
