Show High School Squad "Inexperienced" j Dixie District Schedule Announced ! Between 60 and 70 football hopefuls have been working out ' this week at the Cedar City high school, but nevertheless things1 do not look too bright for Coach , Glen Jackson, because of a woeful woe-ful lack of experienced men. Coach Jackson made a rather Impressive record last season, winning all but one game, the play-off with Millard high for region honors and a berth in the state play-offs. All of his victories victor-ies were lopsided, easy wins, but to run up those scores the coach used ony 11 or 12 seniors practically prac-tically all the time, and although he had plenty of opportunity he did not build at all toward this year's team. There will be many promising boys on the squad this year, but they have had practically no game experience and will need to be developed as the season progresses. The league race will open on Friday, Sept. 18, with three games scheduled, the Cedar Red-men Red-men tangling with Beaver high school on the local field the opening day. Coach Jackson's team will draw a bye in the second sec-ond round of play, and will then play a game each week until the season ends. , The complete schedule in the Dixie division will be as follows: Friday, Sept. 18, Dixie at Mil-ford, Mil-ford, Hurricane at Parowan, Beaver Bea-ver at Cedar, Kanab, bye. Deer season opens Saturday, Oct. 17, and of course, a little thing like a scheduled football game or other school activities cannot be allowed to interfere with get-ing get-ing out into the hills ready for the opening of the season at daybreak day-break Saturday.
