Show Donald R. Keeney Rates Honors at AF Base ; " ' I V i DON KEENEY Cadet Lt. Col. Donald R. Keeney Kee-ney of the College of Southern Utah completed the Air Force ROTC summer training at Hamilton Ham-ilton Air Force Base, Calif., with high honors, the camp commander command-er has Informed Lt. Col. Homer P. Anderson, associate professor of air science at C S U. Cadet Keeney was rated as the outstanding cadet in his squadron squad-ron of 51 cadets at the summer training unit and runner-up for the outstanding cadet of the entire en-tire camp, It was reported by Col. Carleton W. Rogers, commander of the unit at Hamilton Air Force Base. He reported that "Mr. Keeney was an outstanding leader lead-er who displayed Initiative and dependability, and his squadron ' placed first in military compe tition because of Mr. Keeney's interest in the air force and military training." While at the College of Southern South-ern Utah, Keeney distinguished himself as cadet group operations opera-tions officer, and in athletics he was quarterback of the Bronco football team. Mr. Keeney Is a Kentucklan by birth who has made his home in Utah for the past three years while attending C S U and working work-ing at Zion National Park. His parents live at Providence, Ky. He will enter Utah State Agricultural Agricultur-al College at Logan, Utah this fall as a senior, and upon graduation grad-uation and commissioning as a second lieutenant In ' the Air Force Reserve, will commence training as a Jet pilot. |
