Show Taleni Contest Pushed by Farm Bureau flux Mrs. Elaine Nelson, president of the women's auxiliary of the Iron County Farm Bureau, announces an-nounces that plans are being completed for the Farm Bureau Talent Find, on a county, state and national basis, and urges all young people of Iron County to participate. Talent Fund contests will be held in both junior and senior, divisions at the Iron County Fair at Parowan during the first week end of September, Mrs. Nelson says, and the winner in each division di-vision will be sent to the State Fair to compete on a state-wide basis. The winner In the senior division at the State Fair will then be awarded an all-expense paid trip to Chicago, to compete on a national basis. Two Divisions The Amateur Talent Find, or junior division contest, is open to all Farm Bureau boys and girls under 18 years of age. The Rural Youth Talent Find, or senior sen-ior division contest, is open to Farm Bureau members between the ages of 18 and 28 years. Mrs. Nelson points out that the contest con-test Is not restricted to farm people, peo-ple, although to participate contestants con-testants must be members of the County Farm Bureau. Anyone in the county, however, may join the Farm Bureau, whether they are engaged in farming activities activi-ties or not. Farm Bureau membership mem-bership includes husband, wife and all unmarried children. Participant Defined In the junior division each county is entitled to not more than two participants, with a participant in the Junior Talent Find contest defined as one number num-ber given by one or more performers. per-formers. The contest is open for vocal solos, duets, trios, or quartets; quar-tets; instrumental solos or combination com-bination of any instruments; novelty no-velty stunts; dance numbers, readings or dramatic numbers, not exceeding five minutes. j In the senior division a participant partici-pant is defined as one number given by one to four performers. Only one. participant from each county will be allowed in the state contest, Mrs. Nelson says. Mrs. Nelson and other Iron County Farm Bureau officers urge the young people of Iron County to participate in these talent find contests. Those who plan to participate, she pointed out. should begin preparation immediately im-mediately if they have not already al-ready done so.
