NELSON Appointment of a new faculty member to the division of English, Eng-lish, speech and journalism at College of Southern Utah was announced an-nounced this week by Dr. Roy-den Roy-den C. Braithwaite, director of the college. Dale L. Nelson, formerly of Pox Elder High School faculty, has accepted a position as instructor in journalism and English at C S U. Mr. Nejson will assume his new teaching assignment at the opening of school Sept. 26, Dr. Braithwaite said. In addition to his teaching, Mr. Nelson will also head the public relations and publicity activities of the college. A native of Corinne, Box Elder County, Mr. Nelson is a graduate gradu-ate of Utah State Agricultural College in 1950, where he received re-ceived his bachelor of science degree de-gree in journalism. While at the U S A C he was editor of the scribble, campus literary magazine, maga-zine, and was news editor of Student Stu-dent Life, campus newspaper. After Af-ter his graduation he taught English and speech at Grants-ville, Grants-ville, Tooele County for two two years, and then went to Box Elder High School at Brigham City where he has taught English Eng-lish and journalism since that time. He has been in charge of publicity at Box Elder High Schoo.1 for the past year. During the summer, Mr. Nelson has been doing graduate work toward his master of science degree at the U S A C. At C S U Mr. Nelson will instruct in-struct courses in journalism, radio ra-dio and English. He will also assist students in publication of the student weekly newspaper and the yearbook. Mr. Nelson plans to move his wife and three children to Cedar I City within a few days. |
