Show Kent Dover, Ted Cox Win Senior Division Fish Prizes Kent "Red Dog" Dover came, up week before last with a near grand champion in the Cedar Wildlife Federations Big Fish Contest. However, his near miss was four ounces short of Paul Hunter's season heavyweight and Dover was confined to a weekjy prize given by the Corner Market. Dover's catch was taken from Panguitch Lake on a Saturday afternoon and the weigh-in as a result was not accomplished until un-til Monday. It was felt that the fish if weighed in Sat. would have equalled Hunter's. However, at the time of the weigh-in Mon- day, the trophy fell just short of the season's leading catch of Hunter's at two pounds 10 ounces. Last week Ted Cox took top weekly honors with a one pound 14 ounce catch from Yankee Meadow Mea-dow Reservoir. Ted was awarded a prize from Milt's Circus Lounge. For two weeks the weigh-in station has failed to receive a contest from the junior division As a result Dix Tire Shop is still waiting to give away a fine prize to some lucky weekly winner. Glen Jackson, federation president, pres-ident, issued this week an urgent appeal to anglers in the area to be sportsmanlike regarding the up coming Tanguitch Lake poisoning poi-soning program. Although the Big Fish Contest must go on he urges sportsmen who take poisoned poison-ed fish from the lake to refralr from weighing them in. Only fish taken by hook are eligible and this is strictly n matter of personal pers-onal honesty and the cooperation of sportsmen is urgently request - i |
