Show Garth Panter of Denver Slated for Cedar City Boxing Card with Dusty Williams of Reno Garth Panter, world's leading middleweight contendor, will appear ap-pear as the featured attraction on a boxing card to be held at the College of Southern Utah fieldhouse on Saturday evening, May 21. Panter will go 10 rounds with Dusty Williams of Reno, Ncv., in one of the top attraction at-traction bouts ever to be staged in southern Utah. Semi-main event will feature Don Kennlngton of Star Valley, Wyo., In an eight round battle with Russell Davis, Indian from Reno, Nev. Kennlngton, featured on a card in Cedar City In an I n t e r-mountaln middleweight championship bout Is no newcomer new-comer to this area. A fast scrappy scrap-py lad at 1471i pounds Kennlng-tin Kennlng-tin and Davis, at 148V2, could well be a featured match. - Sponsorship of the card Is by the Cedar City Elks Lodge No. 1556 and the C S U athletic dept. Matchmaker Is Kent Hoyt of the local lodge. Norm Atherley, state AAU winner win-ner from Cedar City, will battle four rounds with Tiger Jackson of Reno, in another outstanding match. Another Reno man who will appear on the card will be Paul Williams, at 124, and he will go four rounds with Red Maxwell of St. George, at 123 pounds. Lester Loops of Kanarravllle will be matched with Jenson of Cedar City. Other local favorites who will appear on the card include La-Mar La-Mar Clark, recently returned from the service, at 200 lbs; Frank Berrett, LaVar Short, another state AAU winner, and Leon Brtnkerhoff of St. George. 1 Panter In his 80 professional fights has scored 41 knockouts. His latest encounter was against Sugar Ray Robinson, and although al-though Panter lost the decision, Robinson, admitted that he was in trouble in the first round, when Panter scored a solid right and left on the ex-champion. In addition to his knockout victories, Panter his won 17 times on points and has fought two draws. He has beaten such able men aas Pierre Langlols, Walter Cartler, Norman Hayes, Earl Turner, Grover Jackson, Pedro Ped-ro Jiminez and Ronnie Hirt, all nationally known boxers.
