Show Jaycee-Ettes Further Cause of A Better Community Total contributions from the Cedar City Jaycee-Ettes to worthwhile worth-while projects throughout the past year have amounted to $325 according to Mrs. Robert Hansen president of the club. Recently $160 was donated to the city for the purpose of renovating ren-ovating the warding pool at the Municipal Swimming Pool for use this summer. This was the annual project of the auxiliary auxil-iary organization. This week the Jaycee-Ettes have contributed another $100, appropriated at the Installation Installa-tion banquet of the group last week. $50 went to the Iron County Coun-ty Hospital with the stipulation that the money should be used In the nursery. Mrs. Klien Rollo, secretary, made the presentation to Mrs. C. A. Kirkham, superin-tendant superin-tendant of nurses. $50 was donated do-nated to the North Elementary for the purchase of needed books for the library there. Oscar J. Hulet, in accepting the contribution contri-bution from Mrs. James Sandberg, Sand-berg, treasurer, stated that the contribution would be matched by the school board for a $100 book purchase for the library. In addition to these contri-butioils contri-butioils the Jaycee-Ettes are sponsoring Miss Cleo Tullis of . the Cedar City High School to Girl's State in June. Registration and transportation cost will probably pro-bably amount to $10, Mrs. Hansen Han-sen said. A $25 contribution to the Jaycees on the Christmas Lighting program was also made In December. Mrs. Lester Heyborrle, publicity publi-city director for the past year, took over the reins for the Jaycee-Ettes at the May 11 in-stalation in-stalation and expressed her desire de-sire that the auxiliary organiz-aion organiz-aion could continue Its activities activi-ties and contributions to community com-munity betterment again this year. 1 |
