Show Seminary Graduates Receive Diplomas In Impressive Rites f ;! y' ; $ iii ( U I , -: ' i - J 'Y t I ' : k !- ! 1 k ;.y" i I'-' , ; :- .; WAYNE DECKER Thirty-three four-year graduates gradu-ates of the Cedar L. D. S. Seminary Semin-ary received diplomas at Impressive Impres-sive ceremonies held last Sunday evening at the College of Southern South-ern Utah Auditorium and over 100 three-year graduates were honored for successfully completing complet-ing the necessary requirements for graduation. Another first was the presentation presen-tation of the first $100 Lois Baird Heaton Memorial Scholarship to Wayne R. Decker, a four-year graduate. This scholarship was given by Allen and Elbert Heaton Hea-ton of Cedar City in honor of their mother. Decker will use the scholarship to further his education at the College of Southern Utah, he Indicated. In-dicated. Ted Tuttle of the Church department de-partment of education delivered the address to the graduates at the ceremonies and Rodney Turner, Turn-er, principal of th seminary, presented the graduates to Dr. P. K. Edmunds, Cedar Stake Counsellor, Coun-sellor, to receive their diplomas. Talks by seminary students were given by Avey Pearce and Morris Slack. Scripture reading was by Mariam Williams and the Invocation was by Richard Hey-wood. Hey-wood. Benediction was by Jan-lne Jan-lne Bauer. Bob Jones, seminary student-body student-body president, delivered the welcoming wel-coming address at the opening of the ceremonies. |
