Show PARAGONAH Final Rites Honor Memory of "William Merlin Hunt Funeral services were held in Taragonah Saturday for William Merlin Hunt, 54, who died Thurs- day at the Iron County hospital i of causes incident to a fajl at his home on Saturday, Oct. 15. Mr. Hunt, an employee of the Utah Construction Company at the time of hte death, fell In a basement excavation at his home in Paragonah on the night of Oct. 15. The home was being remodeled re-modeled and Mr. Hunt had fallen fal-len Into the basement in the rear of the building. Clark A. Lamoreaux of the . ward bishopric conducted the services. Prelude and postlude or-gan or-gan music was played by Mrs. Wilma Lamoreaux. Invocation was by Thomas A. Robinson. The opening and closing songs were rendered by the choir under un-der the direction of D. Amasa Stones. A history of the deceased was Riven by Helen Stones. Speakers included Bishop Howard Knight of Parowan, and Bishop Victor It. Robinson. Mrs. Edna Brown sang "Coin' Home," accompanied by Mrs. June Decker. A ladles double trio sang an a capella arrangement of "In the Garden." The group consisted of Hazel Jean Robinson, Robin-son, Wilma Lamoreaux, Iris Jones, Kathleen Mitchell, Sarah Robinson and Hilma Lamoreaux. Benediction was pronounced by J. Leonard Topham. At the cemetery the choir sang "Resting Now from Care and Sorrow"; the dedicatory prayer was given by Orson Talbot. Pall bearers were nephews of the deceased. Thomas and Myron Abbott, Billy Barton, Frank Lister, Lis-ter, William Dell and Jay Alver-son, Alver-son, Nieces and a group of young neighbors took care of the lovely love-ly floral pieces. Mr. Hunt was born in Paragonah Paragon-ah Feb. a7, 1901. a son of William A. and Emma Knight Hunt. He married Lasca Dorrlty of Beaver on April 2. 1928. He is survived by his widow, a son, Bernell, Stockton, Utah, and four daughters', Mrs. Wanda Benson, Parowan; Larle, Mildred and Janet Hunt, Paragonah; one grandchild, a sister, Mrs. Pearl .Rogers, Cedar City, and a brother, bro-ther, Samuel Abbott, of Para-'honah. Para-'honah. Mr. Hunt was employed for 20 years by the Southern Utah Dairy -Company and then worked for the Union Pacific Railroad prior to accepting work with Utah Construction Con-struction seven years ago. |
