Show Candidates Chosen by Republican Party for Positions on City Council At the nominating mass meeting meet-ing of the Republican Party in Parowan last Thursday evening three men were placed in nomination nomin-ation to run for councilmen in the coming municipal election on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Named at the meeting were D. Robinson, who is serving as a' member of the city council . at the present time and whose term expires Dec. 31; Arnold Gurr and Arlo Holyoak. The last two named persons were named to vie for the positions now hejd by Heber Gurr and E. Ray Lyman, Ly-man, whose terms as city councilmen coun-cilmen expire also on Dec. 31. Robinson has been serving as a member of the council by appointment, ap-pointment, having been named to fill the unexpired term of Leonard Leon-ard S. Orton, who. was elected on the Democratic ticket four years ago, and later resigned. Lyman li also serving by appointment, being named to fill the final two years of W. Scott Mitchell as councilman when MltcheU was elected mayor two years ago. Lyman had stated emphatical-ly emphatical-ly that he didn't desire to run again on the ticket after serving serv-ing Parowan City for many years as mayor and councilman.
