Show Management Confab Toflir Range, Forestry Ills A special week-long management manage-ment conference for, the Bureau of Land Management will open in Cedar City on Nov. 14, Keith E. Norrls, range manager of the Virgin River Grazing District (Utah No. 4), announces. Mr. Norris Is in charge of local arrangements ar-rangements for the conference. District managers, BLM, from six states will assemble here for the meetings, which will be held at El Escalante HoteJ. Staff members from state and area offices of-fices and top officials of the BLM In Washington also will attend. Representatives from the land management districts in Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada and California, will be present. Improvement of supervisor skills, discussion of new methods of operation and exchange of ideas' will be featured at the conference. con-ference. RoJand A. Rush, training officer offi-cer from the Washington office of Director Edward Woozley, and Earl J. Thomas, assistant to Mr. Woozley, will direct training phases, of the conference. Speakers during the five day conference will Include Dr. Roy-den Roy-den C. Braithwaite, director of the College of Southern Utah; Dr. L.-A: Stbddart. head of the range management department, U S A C, and Lee E. Young, director di-rector of lands for the state of Utah. The states to be represented are primarily range states, although al-though some have forestry problems prob-lems in the B L M. Both range and forestry phases of land management man-agement wU be discussed. |
