Show High School Gridders To Tackle Sole Remaining Foe Coach CJen Jackson and his Cedar City Redmen gridiron crew have clinched a tie for first place in the Dixie Division of Region Six and are now only one game out of a repeat performance as division champions. The assured tie came last Thursday when the Redmen downed the undefeated Dixie Flyers 32 to 0 in the Dixie Sun Bowl. Meanwhile the remaining opponent for the Redmen, Eeaver, was racking up a 20 to 12 win "over Milford High School. Parowan Rams chalked up their first win of the season and scored their first points against the Hurricane Tigers Thursday. They defeated the visiting Tigers 15 to 13 with a safety with only 50 seconds of playing time remaining re-maining spelling the difference between a tie and a win .for the Rams. FInaJ games on the slate of the division calendar this season puts the Beaver Beavers at Cedar City against the Redmen, with game time at 2 p. m.; Milford will be at Parowan and Dixie will be entertained at Hurricane. Beaver, now tied with Dixie for second pjace in the Dixie division race, has defeated defeat-ed Parowan, 32 to 0; Hurricane, 6 to 0, and Milford 20 to 13, while losing to Dixie at St. George 13 to 0. The Redmen, however, seem to have the extra manpower to score a win over this crew If the boys' will stay up for the game and not go on the field with the Idea that the championship is theirs. Present attitude of the boys is that they need this game and according to Coach Jackson, they will be out to win on the field and not in the locker room. |
