Show Broncos Take Lower End of 14-7 Score in Contest vith Snow Badgers Coach Bruce Osborne and the College of Southern Utah Broncos Bron-cos returned last Thursday evening eve-ning from Snow College of Eph-raim Eph-raim a rather dejected crew after af-ter suffering their third straight loss and the second successive conference loss of the football season. Leading at halftime by a score of 7 to 0 the Broncos had turned in an outstanding performance including one of the best offensive offen-sive exhibitions of the season, according to Cleo Petty, CSU athletic director. However the Snow Badgers' returned after the half to push across two touchdowns touch-downs and win a 14 to 7 victory, the second conference win for the Ephralm crew. In the first half of play the Broncos moved within the 20 yard line of the Badgers on four different occasions. Twice Coach Osborne's crew was stopped by costly penalties and a third attempt at-tempt was stymied when the ball was' fumbled on the five yard line. Late in the second quarter the Broncos made a sustained drive moving mostly on the ground with the fine running of LaMar Clark at fullback, and halfbacks BUI Meador and. Jimmy Jim-my Nielson. Bob Vest was calling call-ing signals. The score, first of the game, came on a pass play from five yards out. Vest hit end Don Ritchie on a flat pass' In the end zone. The extra point attempt at-tempt by Harold Gentry split the uprights to give the Broncos a 7 to 0 lead. As the second half opened the Badgers of Snow College began be-gan to show some offensive spunk and the hard-hit Bronco crew, still suffering from Injuries from the previous game against Weber Wildcats, began to Jose their steam. In the late minutes of the third quarter the Snow crew put on a sustained drive to the five yard line of the Broncos Bron-cos and on the next play an off-tackle off-tackle plunge paid off for six points. As the quarter ended' a new game was In the making with a 7 to 7 score. The second score for the Snow Badgers came early In the fourth quarter culminating from the 20 yard line with a pass to Clark at end; into the end zone. The series' of plays started on the Snow 40. In two plays the Badgers Bad-gers moved to the Bronco 40 and a first down. An Illegal use of the hands penalty against the Broncos fcj-lowed fcj-lowed by a five yard offside penalty pen-alty placed the ball on the Bronco Bron-co 20 to set up the scoring pass play. Late In the quarter the Broncos took to the air In a final attempt to score. A 40 yard pass from Vest to Gene Secrist penetrated to the Badger 20.
