Show CHS to Participate In National Scholarship Program The Cedar City high school has been invited to participate in the National Merit Scholarship program, pro-gram, Pratt M. Bethers, principal, ttMiiuuiia-3 tuiu in response 10 ine invitation seven worthy students have taken the first test in preparation pre-paration for later competition. Under the program, which is nation-wide, 200 scholarships will be given on a competitive basis to students showing outstanding out-standing traits of leadership, character and aptitude, and maintaining excellent scholastic records. On a basis of enrollment seven Cedar students were eligible to compete for the scholarships, and were given the first test Wednesday. Wednes-day. Successful candidates will be given adltlonaJ tests in January. Jan-uary. Students from the local school selected to take the entry tests were Jerry Boynes, Kerry Grant, Dallas Isom, Jerry Lee. Kay Dawn race. Clayton Petty and Edrlck TwltchcU. with Robert Jones and Sandra Langford named nam-ed as alternates. |
