Show Livestock Valuations Lowered by State Tax Commission In a published list of recommendations recom-mendations for the assessment of livestock for 1953 as released by the State Tax Commission practically every type of livestock live-stock has been valued below the 1952 recommended lists. In the range cattle class, cows, two years old and over, assessment assess-ment was $37 in 1952 and will be dropped $10 In assessment foi 1953 to only $27. . Similar reduction is the rule in three of the five classes of assessment listed by the Tax commission with the horse and miscellaneous sections remaining remain-ing almost parallel with 1952 figures. Range cattle in all brackets, grade dairy' cattle and range sheep have all been reduced for the 1953 assessment. Cows in the dairy class will be assessed at $36 for 1953, according to the report, re-port, as compared to $45 for 1952. Rams, in the range sheep division divi-sion dropped from an assessment of $15 In 1952 to $9 for 1953. Following is the 1953 assessment assess-ment recommendations as published pub-lished by the state tax commission: commis-sion: Range cattle: Cows, two years old and over, $27; yearlings, $21; Calves, over six months, $15; steers, two years old and over, $35; bulls, $50; purebreds, 14 to 2 times value of range cattle, and cattle on feed for slaughter, according ac-cording to value. Grade dairy cattle: Cows, twe years old and over, $36; yearlings, year-lings, $21; calves, over six months, $15. Purebreds will be assessed IVi times to two times value of grade cattle. Range sheep: Range sheep, $4; ewes, aged, on feed, $2; rams, used on range, $9; purebreds, 14 to two times value of grade sheep and lambs on feed for slaughter, according to value. Horses: draft horses, $20; saddle sad-dle horses, $25; range horses, $10, and blooded saddle horses, according ac-cording to value. Other assessments are as follows: fol-lows: Swine, cwt, $4; goats, per head, $3; foxes, per head, $2; bees, per colony, $1.50; mink, each, $2; chinchillas, each $4, Turkeys, each $1.50, and poultry and rabbits, each $.25. |
