Show Broncos Resume Practice for League Opener Following two weeks lay-off the members of the Branch Agricultural Ag-ricultural college basketball team will resume practice Friday and will be drilled hard during the remaining week before the opening of conference play, in an attempt to get back into shape. The last game the Broncos Bron-cos played was against Glendale junior college in Ontario on Dec. 18. The inaction during the past two weeks came as the result of the cancellation of two practice games with the San Bernardino junior college. The games were to have been played on Dec. 22 and 23, but the Californians were unable to make the trip. As a result Coach Cleo Petty dismissed the squad following the return from the California trip, and the players have been at their homes for the holidays. Most of them have been doing a little gym work and a bit of shooting nearly every day in order or-der to keep in shape but have not met together for practice. The conference play will get under way Friday, Jan. 9, when the Carbon Eagles play the Broncos Bron-cos in the B A C fieldhouse, and the Snow Badgers journey to St. George to meet the Dixie Rebels. The following week end Dixie will play at B A C. One change has been made in the squad since the invitational invita-tional tournament was played. Nick Lunt, letterman from last year, dropped from the squad before the California trip, re-nortine re-nortine that he had decided to discontinue basketball for the remainder of the season in order to devote more time to his studies. stu-dies. Dave Magleby of Monroe, one of the last men to be cut from the squad, has returned to the squad to replace Lunt. He made the trip to California and will probably remain as a regular member of the 12-man squad. |
