Show Parowan to Hold 102nd Birthday Party January 13 Preparations are getting under way for the celebration of Parowan Par-owan City's 102nd birthday on Tuesday, January 13, with an all day program being outlined by those in charge of the observance. The program for the day wi.' be under the direction of the two Parowan camps of the daughters daugh-ters of the Utah Pioneers and the Sons of Utah Pioneers unit. These groups have outlined the following events for the day. A public meeting in the morning, morn-ing, a luncheon, set to start at 12:30 p. m., more program numbers num-bers and old time dancing during dur-ing the afternoon and an old time dance in the evening. The meeting, afternoon program pro-gram and old time dancing are to be held in the First-Second ward chapel and recreation hall, with the luncheon set for the Old Rock Church if the weather is not too cold. The Sons of Utah Pioneers of which Ivan Decker is president will have charge of the morning morn-ing meeting, and the D. U. P. camps will have charge of the rest of the activities for the day. The Elizabeth camp is headed by Mrs. M. E. Lowder and the Paulina camp by Mrs. Merrill Thornton. The D. U. P. camps are planning plan-ning to sell lunches to all who attend rather than have the regular reg-ular family group luncheons of former years. Those in charge extend an invitation to all residents resi-dents of Parowan and surrounding surround-ing communities to join with them in observing the city's birthday. |
