Show Governor Proclaims January "Egg Month" January has teen officially proclaimed as "Kpg Month" in j I'tah by Governor J. Hracken Lee to tie in with the nation-wide j consumer information campaign, being sponsored h all branches of the poultjy mdustry and the Poultry and Y.f, national board. F. II. Hendricks, chairman of the I'tah Poultry Council and four members mem-bers of Hie e.ten ,on tl i is ion of the V S A (', on the committee. The 1" S A (' members include: David Carson, extension poiiltiy-m.m; poiiltiy-m.m; Klmer Clark, assistant extension ex-tension ot:ltr man; Klna Miller, extension home economist and Neil llolbrook, extension editor. Mr. Nman points out: "The ! designation of January as Kj-'g Month represents a concerted ef-I ef-I fort by the industry to direct 'public attention to the importance import-ance of the egg industry to the national health ami economy and to the high quality of this j every day food. We hope to i make the public aware of the nutritive value of eggs and also al-so the fact that og;gs can be used to prepare many ocllent meals inexpensively." All of I'tah's leading poultry organizations and associations, including Utah Poultry and Farmers Cooperative with more than tiOOO members in the state, will cooperate in the "Kgg Month" program. |
