Show "Sky Lecture" To Be v Given Saturday The public will be Invited to attend at-tend the second in a series of "sky lectures" Saturday evening to be presented at Branch Agricultural College by Harry O. Johnson, noted astronomer-lecturer, it was announced an-nounced by Dr. H. Wayne Drlggs, Director. Mr. Johnson will furnish an evening even-ing program including a star and constellation discussion in the BAC auditorium at 8 pjn. followed by a "sky field trip" under the stars, if weather permits, Dr. Driggs said. Mr. Johnson is director of the Brown Foundation of Walla Walla, Washington, and has been engaged In astronomy research and lecture work for many years. His American Sky Lecture series has been shown in most principal cities of the United States. The educational value of Mr. Johnson's lectures on stars and planets is enhanced by the use of numerous slide films, including pictures pic-tures taken through the most powerful pow-erful existing telescopes. Stage apparatus ap-paratus is also used to demonstrate orbit movements of the stars and planets, Dr. Drlggs Indicated. |
