Show Avoid Conflicts; Use Town Calendar "The Town Calendar", compiled by a committee from the Cedar City Coordinating Council, and published publish-ed weekly in the Iron County Record Rec-ord rnnld and should Drove of tre mendous value to everyone in Cedar City. However, unless all groups cooperate, co-operate, its value will soon be lost. The Coordinating Council has organized or-ganized the "Town Calendar" committee com-mittee in order to help avoid damaging dam-aging conflicts for various community commun-ity functions. The committee does not attempt to say when any group may stage any function, but it does attempt to keep everyone Informed so that few conflicts need arise. If organizations would refer to the calendar before scheduling events, they would avoid interfering with the activities of others, and also avoid interference with their own. A striking example was the conflict con-flict Monday night, when the Lions club staged an Initiation meeting on the same night as the Anna Sten concert presented by the Music Arts Association. This was an unfortunate un-fortunate and unnecessary conflict, and could have been avoided had the reference been made to the calendar. calen-dar. An appeal is made to every organization or-ganization to report their activity schedules to the Calendar Committee, Commit-tee, and to avoid damaging conflicts con-flicts wherever possible. |
