Show Lindquist Cuts BAC B-Team Men From Basketball Squad Coach Ray Lindquist cut practically prac-tically all his B team members from the Branch Agricultural College basketball squad this week to make room for students entering school for the winter quarter, or beginning begin-ning practice after participating In football. This does not mean, he says, that the new members will be carried on the squad, since he has no Idea how good the new men are, or how rapidly they will develop. Coach Lindquist also states, that for the present at least, he will carry a Junior Varsity team, composed com-posed of men that have already been cut from the Varsity squad, and those that must be cut In the future. He will carry a fifteen man squad for his Varsity team. New men who have reported after completing football are Kay Madsen, Darwin Woodbury, Bob Roberts, Brian Turner, Jerry Stanton, Dixie Leavltt and Eddie Larson. Winter quarter students reporting Include Kay Bradford, Kenneth Hall, and Nell Chappell. The' game with the B. Y. U. Reserves Re-serves scheduled for tonight has been cancelled and the team will see no further action until the Phoenix, Arizona tournament opens Tuesday. The Broncos will play four games in Phoenix regardless of the results of their games. Coach Lindquist will take fifteen men to Arizona, but will not announce an-nounce his traveling squad until Friday night. They will leave Sunday. Sun-day. None of the new men are expected ex-pected to make the trip since they have been practicing for such a short time. The eight members of last year's team back this year, most of whom are playing their third year at B. A. C, are certain to make the Art-sona Art-sona trip, Including Chick Terry, L. C. Miles, Boyd Holyoak, Lynn Nellson, Arden Allred, Eldon Fullmer, Full-mer, Clark Mathews and Nyles Humperles. Three first year men, Dick and George DeLand and Bob Peterson, are also certain to be named on the traveling squad, and the other four will probably be David Urle, Lowell Sherratt, Ray Thompson, and Dick Madsen, although al-though Dick Hoyle or Joe Beck-strand, Beck-strand, or both may be named. |
