Show Graveside Services Held For Former Parowan Resident Graveside services were held in Parowan last week for Thomas Wel-den Wel-den Burt, 64, former resident of Parowan, who died at Boulder City, Nevada on April 5th. from heart trouble. He had been ill for the past two years. Funeral services were held In Las Vegas after which the body was taken to Parowan for burial. The Parowan services, under the direction of Bishop W. L. Adams, were as follows: Song, "The Beautiful Beau-tiful Land", by a mixed quartet consisting of Itha Mortensen, Al-den Al-den Robb, Rula Decker and Ray D. Garner; opening prayer, Samuel J. Whitney; talk, Silas J. Ward; song, "I Need Thee Every Hour", by the quartet; and benediction by Ray D. Garner. The grave was dedicated by David Matheson. Mr. Burt was born in St. George on October 3, 1887, a son of William Wil-liam and Louise Welden Burt. He married Olive Whitlock of Clrcle-ville Clrcle-ville who preceded him in death in 1925. To this couple were born six sons and a daughter. Cater, he married Mrs. Llllie Barnson of Cir-cleville, Cir-cleville, and to them were born two children. A few years ago the family moved to Boulder City where they have resided since. He is survived by his widow; seven sons, Alden Burt of Sparks, Nevada; Weldon H. and Howard S. Burt of Salt Lake City, and LeRoy M., Elmo D., Ted V., and Don Burt of Boulder City; two daughters, Mrs. C. C. Sprague and Shirley Burt of Sparks; three brothers, two sisters and 14 grandchildren. |
