Show Lifelong Summit Resident Taken by Death Thursday Funeral services were held Sunday Sun-day afternoon in the Summit Ward L. D. S. chapel for William T. Allen. Al-len. 69. lifelong resident of Summit, Sum-mit, who died last Thursday evening even-ing at the family home from heart trouble. Mr. Allen had been ill for several months prior to his death. Benjamin R. Lawrence presided at the services which were conducted conduct-ed by Bishop Otto P. Dalley. Speakers Speak-ers included Sylvester Jones of Enoch, William R. Palmer of Cedar City and Oscar J. Hulet of Summit, with the opening prayer being offered of-fered by John H. Dalley. Musical numbers included two songs, "I need Thee Every Hour" and "God Be With You Until We Meet Again" by the choir; a duet, "Whispering Hope", by Randolph Grimshaw and Grace Smith of Enoch; and a solo, "Silver Threads Among The Gold," by Mrs. Smith. Benediction was offered by John P. Dalley, and Charles R. Dalley dedicated the grave. Mr. Allen was born May 12, 1871, at Summit, a son of John and Mary Barton Allen, and has been a prominent pro-minent farmer and livestock raiser in that community all his life. He has also taken an active part in church and civic affairs. He married Margaret Jones on December 15, 1900 in the St. George L. D. S. temple. Survivors include his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Melba Spendlove ol Boulder City, Nevada, and Mrs. Alice Taylor of Cedar City; five sisters, Mrs. Alice Huntington of Beaver, Mrs. Nettie Dalley, Mrs. Nellie Dalley and Mrs. Francis Farrow, Far-row, all of Summit, and Mrs. Hannah Han-nah Jenkins of Salt Lake City. He is also survived by three grandchildren. |
