Show Member Of Army Air Corps Visit With Parents According to word received from the local Army Recruiting Station, Private S. Kent Carpenter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Carpenter, and Private Richard Tweedie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jamps Tweedie, spent the week-end In Cedar City visiting relatives and friends. Private Carpenter graduated from the Cedar City High School In 1937, and then completed 2 quarters at the B. A. C. He enlisted In the Regular Re-gular Army Air Corps on October 31, 1940, and is now a machinist In the 8th. Material Squadron with station at Salt Lake City. Private Tweedie graduated from the Cedar City High School in 1938, after which, he completed 2 yeais at the Branch Agricultural College. He enlisted in the Regular Army Air Corps on November 12, 1940, and now holds the rating of 5th. class Specialist. Private Tweedie is on duty with Headquarters, and Headquarters Squadron 7th. Bombardment Bom-bardment Group, and Is also stationed sta-tioned in Salt Lake City. Both of these young men spoke very highly of the excellent training which they are receiving in the Regular Army Air Corps. Serjeant Warner, local Army Recruiter, Re-cruiter, stated that vacancies a;e now available for young men who desire to enlist in the Regular Army Air Corps or other branches of the service. Foreign service vacancies Include Hawailn Islands. Philippine Islands, and Panama Canal Department. De-partment. Domestic Services vacancies va-cancies are available for stations in California, Washington, and Utah; however, he urges all young men who desire to enlist in the Air Corps to submit their applications without delay.
