Show Three Men Accused Of Selling Liquor To Local Indians Three local men were arraigned before Justice of the Peace Alex H. Rollo last Thursday to answer to charges of selling and trading intoxicating liquors to Indians who are the wards of the Federal Government. Gov-ernment. In the first complaint, Jerry Swisher and Warren Bringhurst were accused of furnishing Intoxicating Intox-icating liquors to Iola Berrerra and Kathleen Bishop of the Cedar City Indian village, while the second complaint charged John Fretwell with disposing of an intoxicating drink, in the form of a rubbing alcohol al-cohol compound, to Harley Bishop, aslo of the local Indian village. In both cases, the Judge, after reviewing re-viewing the evidence presented, ordered or-dered the defendants bound over to the Federal Court of the district dis-trict of Utah, placing bail at $500 for each. Swisher posted his bonds and was released until the next session of the Federal Court, while Bringhurst and Fretwell, who were unable to furnish the necessary bonds, were remanded to the custody cus-tody of the officers to be held until un-til summoned to apear before the Federal Court. |
