Show Cedar High School Band Receives New Uniforms Approximately fifty members of the Cedar City high school band, resplendant In their new crimson and gold uniforms, will compete in the annual music festival to be held in St. George Saturday under the sponsorship of the Washington County school district and the Dixie junior college. The new uniforms, which were purchased by the Band Parents' Association As-sociation with the financial cooperation cooper-ation of the band parents, high school student body, Iron County School Board, the City, American Legion, Chamber of Commerce, Elks, Rotary and Lions Clubs, were presented pre-sented to the students at special exercises held last evening in the public school auditorium. Following the presentation of the uniforms, A. B. Larson, music instructor at the high school, presented all the local students who will compete In the festival in a musical program featuring fea-turing the numbers that have been prepared for the contest. Those taking part include both the Junior and senior high school bands, the high school orchestra and Robert Bradshaw, Robert Parry, Garn Seeg-mlller, Seeg-mlller, Luana Wood, John Manning, and Arlene Barlow, individual contestants. con-testants. ' The two local school bands will compete at the music festival with fourteen other junior and senior high school bands, including ' two from St. George, one each from Enterprise, and Hurricane, two from Kane County, one each from Parowan, Par-owan, Beaver, MinersvWe, Fillmore, Delta, Hinckley and Moapa Valey High from Nevada. |
