Layton Rec. offering last chance tourney Layton City Recreation and Hardee's are sponsoring a ladies slow pitch tournament Aug. 25-27 at the Oak Forest ball complex. Entry fee per team is $90 for the triple elimination tournament. Each team is guaranteed three games. After two losses, teams will play in a consolation bracket. Eleven inch game balls will be provided with ASA rules being followed. fol-lowed. If inclement weather delays the tournament, teams must be ready to play the week of Aug. 29. No refunds will be given. First, second, third and fourth place teams will receive T-shirts and team sponsor trophies. First and second place teams will also receive individual awards. Special awards to be given are: MVP of the tournament, Golden Glove, RBI hitter of the tournament and RBI hitter of each game. Registration is now being accepted at the Layton City Parks and Recreation Department located lo-cated at 465 N. 275 E., Layton in the Surf 'N Swim complex. The registration fee must be paid at the time of registration to be guaranteed guaran-teed a spot in the tournament. Registration Reg-istration will close Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 5 p.m. Tournament times will be given Wednesday, Aug. 24 at noon. For more information call 546-8580.
