The amount varies from community to community in Davis County but there arc fees that the first time householder may not be aware of. Most landlords require a security deposit de-posit to protect them from damage over and above normal wear and tear. That deposit may be less than $100 or may run to several hundred depending on the condition of the rental and the landlord's previous experience whether good or bad. Many landlords also require first and last month's rent before the tenants move in. Again this protects the landlord land-lord from losses and there is often a direct relationship between the amount of money required and his past rental experiences. Most landlords in Davis County require some kind of writtealease. It is important to remember remem-ber that a lease is a binding legal contract con-tract which should be read carefully before being signed. Beyond the deposit and advance rent, the new bride and groom may need to apply for. service from the telephone tele-phone company, power company and also service from the city for water, sewer and garbage collection. If the customer applies for service by phone and is home when the serviceman arrives, the serviceman service-man can check I.D. and get the signature signa-ture card signed at the location of the service being connected. Mountain Fuel will also check all gas appliances at no charge at the time of the gas connection. con-nection. A new customer with Mountain Bell is requested to pay a security deposit of $75.
