Show I 1Tk Way Erf 89 Years Ago in Davis County April 21, 1899 South Weber Many believe that we will have high water in the river this spring. The warm weather weath-er last week brought the water up quite high but the cool nights the first of this week has caused it to lower some. As a rule, the highest water comes in May. The bridge at Uintah washed away on the 12th of May 14 years ago and the bridge in the canyon washed away on the 31st of May three years ago. Lost: One dark bay horse; about five years old; weight about 1100 pounds; scar across the back of left front foot; has a somewhat Roman nose; star in forehead; foretop clipped clip-ped off. If above animal has been found and the finder will notify Frederick Rampton, Bountiful, he will be suitably rewarded. 75 Years Ago in Davis County April 24, 1913 A meeting of the Davis County Musical Association was held in East Bountiful on Tuesday, April the 8th, when the officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: fol-lows: president J.H. Grant Jr., musical director, E.D. Mann, secretary sec-retary and Treasure F.E. Sheldon. It was decided to increase the number of selections in the next contest. Those to be added are as follows: Kornet solo, soprana and alto duet, bass and tenor duet, juvenile chorus, 20 voice or less, male chorus. It is the desire of the committee that greater interest from the central cen-tral and northern parts of the coun-be coun-be aroused. Every choir in the stake or county should enter, if only for the good coming to them in the renewed interest in choir work. |
