Show Stress management classes offered Davis County Mental Health is offering an eight-week community education class in stress management. manage-ment. The class is being offered at the Davis County Mental Health Center, Cen-ter, 470 E. Medical Drive, Bountiful, Bounti-ful, and will be taught by Travis Campbell, DCSW. It will be held from 6-8 p.m. each Wednesday evening beginning May 4. The class is an introduction in developing develop-ing specific stress-management skills, and in changing stress to a healthy and energizing force rather than an unhealthy tension which is how most people perceive stress. In these weekly classes, men and women can become more aware of the sources of stress in their lives and their personal reactions to stress, both physical and emotional. emotion-al. The body's stress response will be described as well as functional and dysfunctional adaptations we make to stressful events. A personal person-al assessment of stressors and stress levels is an integral part of the course. Also explored will be specific coping strategies, such as relaxation, relaxa-tion, visualization and cognitive management. Special emphasis is placed on understanding the re lationship between thoughts, behavior be-havior and emotion. The person who experiences numerous stress-related stress-related bodily complaints, such as headaches, backaches, fatigue, muscle tension, and ulcers would benefit most from this course. This class meets the requirements require-ments for BYU continuing education educa-tion credit for the Davis County School District. Enrollment is limited to 20 people. peo-ple.
