Show Women's health issues discussed day's illnesses may be a result of stress. By learning ways to deal with some of the situations which cause stress, we can reduce the risks of many modern diseases. Miss Nelson will present ideas on ways to manage stress to promote health and wellness. These lectures are free to the public and begin at 7 p.m. at Lake-view Lake-view Hospital. Dean Smith will speak on the "Menopausal Syndrome" at Lakeview Hospital on April 20 at 7 p.m. Menopause is the transitional period of a woman's life in which the reproductive function gradually gradual-ly diminishes and is lost. During this time some women experience physical or psychological changes. Medical intervention may be necessary to help women during this time. Dr. Smith will address hormone therapy, osteoporosis and coronary coron-ary heart disease in the menopausal menopaus-al woman. On April 27, Judith Pratt, R.N., will speak on "Burnout in Mothers." It is common knowledge know-ledge that professionals that deal closely with people are at risk of burning out. The modern mother who has numerous roles and responsibilities re-sponsibilities now finds symptoms of burnout gradually developing in her life. Mrs. Pratt will discuss recognizing rec-ognizing burnout and various ways of coping with it. On the same evening, Nancy Nelson, LCSW, will speak on "Managing Stress."
