".;'..'; Cougars take second during soccer tourney The Cougars '73 AAA soccer team began their spring season by playing in the San Diego Spring Classic tournament in San Diego. Every other team entered, except the Cougars, was from southern California so the competition was very keen. On Friday the Cougars were not scored on in the two games they played. They defeated the Hot Spurs 3-0 and the Scorpions 2-0. Saturday morning they played the United Clovis and won 3-1 which qualified them to play in the championship cham-pionship game with Valley Pride. Goals made by Ryan Creer and Nick Berry in the championship game kept the Cougars' hopes alive but the game ended in a 4-2 loss for the Cougars. They came home with second place medals which is not bad coming from play in southern California. ' Also the team and their families had a good time soaking up the California weather. i ' .1 Members of the 73 Cougars AAA soccer team are, front from left, Travis Hogge, Ammon Jones, Nick Berry, Nick Lafeber, Aaron Jones, Marcus Rhoton, Mark Jolley and John Garlock.
