Show " VOICE OF THE PEOPLE There was no dance at the pavilion last Saturday night because be-cause two members of the Recreation Rec-reation Committee would not pay the reasonable amount asked by the orchestra for playing. Bryan Lund, the third member of the committee, who could not be present, pre-sent, had agreed to the amount asked but the other members would not agree. The two members present were very nasty with the boys, ordering them out of the hall and telling them they would not play for the dances in the future at the Recreation Rec-reation hall. The orchestra had spent 17 or IS hours in rehearsals to prepare themselves to do a good job. It was agreed they should play in place of Howard Cannon and his orchestra who had a three nights' engagement out of town. The boys were in the right, and should be commended for the stand they' took. Is it right that men, because they have a little authority, should bully youngesters ? The Recreation Hall is a public institution, and no committeemen have the right to boycot local musicians without ample justification. Signed, DR. FRANK B. NELSON |
