Show Legion And Auxiliary Well Represented At Cedar District Meet The Lester Keate Post of the American Legion along with the Ladies' Auxiliary was well represented rep-resented at the week-end convention conven-tion in Cedar City, this being the twentieth annual convention of the American Legion in Utah, and seventeenth convention of the Auxiliary. With the cooperation of the Lions club the Legion sent 10 rodeo riders to the convention, all in gala attire and on attractive mounts. This gave them attention in the parade as well as serving to advertise the coming Legion-Lion Legion-Lion September rodeo and fruit festival to be held in St. George. Auxiliary ladies attending the convention for the two days included in-cluded Mesdames Paula Mathis, Mary Williams, Vilate Prince, Belle W. Prince, Mae A. Pace, Mary McArthur, Agnes Pickett, Maud Seegmiller, Violet Esplin, Jetta Snow, Hettie Bentley, Kate B. Milne, Zetta Worthen, Clara Bunting, Alice W. Milne, Lillian Short and Minnie Mathis. Mesdames Mes-dames Eleanor S. Smith, Rachel Judd, Nettie K. Morris, Ruth Pickett and Eltha Gillin attended on Saturday. The St. George Martial band, understood to be the only such band in this end of the state attended at-tended the Saturday afternoon and evening program as special guests, furnishing music for the occasion. Those who attended the convention con-vention are full of praise for the hosts and hostesses of Cedar City and state the convention lacked nothing that would contribute to the education, comfort and " happiness hap-piness of delegates. |
