Show Three-Day Celebration To Be Opened By Wild West Parade The Lions Club-Legion two-day rodeo will officially get underway Thursday morning, September 8, with a "wild west parade" that committeemen assert will be the best parade to ever be staged in St. George. In addition to the two-day rodeo. Saturday, September Septem-ber 10, will also be sponsored by the St. George Chamber of Commerce Com-merce as a sports day, general program and Fruit Festival in the evening. With L. W. McGregor as chairman chair-man of the parade committee, everything is reported as going forward satisfactorily. Committeemen Committee-men declare that they have re-ceired re-ceired the backing of practically every business house in town wtth the promise that they will be represented in the parade. Kangaroo Court The first session of the Lions-Legion Lions-Legion Kangaroo court was well attended Monday night and evoked evok-ed many laughs at the expense of those who were hailed before the court and charged with various and sundry offenses. Those present report that the fines were paid quite cheerfully and all took the court in good fun. Court will be held each Monday night and offenders against the decree for beards, including mustache, mus-tache, chin whiskers and sideburns', side-burns', will be meted out sentences. |
