The Uintah sophomore team will battle Morgan on the road, Thursday. -1 Uintah Utes to battle Rangely Uintah High School's volleyball team will open its season with an away game against Rangely, Friday at 4 p.m. The Utes' first region game will be in Vernal against Provo on Sept. 20. The Uintah team will take on Mountain Moun-tain View in Orem, Sept. 22 and will compete in a tournament in Green River, Wyo., Sept. 24. The Utes will host Orem. Sept. 27 and will encounter Timpview in Provo. Sept. 29. The Utes will host American Fork Oct. 4 and will take on Provo in an away match. Oct. 11. The Vernal team will host Mountain View, Oct. 13 and will battle the Tigers in Orem. Oct. 18. The Utes will host Timpview. Oct. 27 and will battle the Cavewomen in American Fork. Nov. 1. Junior varsity varsi-ty games will begin at 4 p.m. and varsity var-sity games will begin at approximately approximate-ly 5 p.m. "We have been learning new offenses of-fenses and defenses. We have been teaching our volleyball players a new style of rotation, a 6-2 offense. We have also been learning a man-up defense." said Uintah coach Colette Hymas. "We have been working our setters really hard to learn their new positions and have been putting our athletes through basic conditioning drills." |
